ABOUT ME

Mike Rushby is a music photographer in Scotland. Covering live music, festivals and events, as well as portraits, editorial and commercial work.

I'm a music and portrait photographer best known for my work at festivals and live gigs all over Scotland. Getting to tell the stories of a band on and off the stage is a rush that never gets old, and I'm priveleged to be trusted to give people a glimpse into their lives.

I met my wife at a festival and since my daughter's middle name is Bella there are no prizes for guessing which one! Having them in my life has allowed me to see a lot more of the quirks and details that it takes to put on something fantastic and modern, and I love the challenge of bringing that across in the images from an event.

I love photography, and have been working in different styles for the past 10 years -
the camera gear may have changed, but the passion remains the same!

Whatever I'm working on, I make sure that I understand what you need, when you need it, and how to get it. That means being available to discuss things with you before the day, and professionally editing photos quickly to get you results.

During any shoot I am careful to make sure that the focus remains where it should be, on the subject - this means getting your shots no matter what comes up. When shooting at gigs and events this also means blending in and not ruining it for the crowds around me!

I am a regular contributor to MNPR Magazine, providing photos and review coverage from gigs and festivals in the UK. I've shot and written about everyone from local newcomers to global superstars. Getting the shots no matter what the conditions. #DespiteTheLight

I am also a founding partner of
Aberdeen Music Photographics - the premier multi-shooter collective of music and event photographers in and around Aberdeen. We specialise in getting complete coverage for any size of gig, festival or event by working as a team of well organised photographers.
